Kerik Schmerik

Home Sec nominee, Bernard Kerik, never should have been that. Whether or not he was vetted properly is not the question. He wasn't. He never should have accepted the nomination. He would have saved everybody a lot of grief if he had self-vetted. Only he and God are fully knowledgeable of his past transgressions, whether against himself, his wife, or justice. Today, we have this ignorant belief, on all sides and fronts, that our personal lives can somehow be separate of our profession. We need an honest, trustworthy person in this position. This man was dishonest. With the president, the country, and with himself.
